Why did you want to join the Alumni Council?:

Grinnellians astound me—Today, somewhere on the planet or around the campus, miracles are occurring daily as Alumni & students engage the world.

Representing current & future alums is a privilege. Assisting current students find their pathway forward and connecting them to other alums who understand just what the current students seek and how it gets done is one aspect of my work when back on campus.

A Quote I Like:

You wouldn't forget him either
If you met him where I met him
Talkin' about Desolation
Desolation is a railroad station round about a 2 AM on week night
You walk into desolation like that and suddenly, out of nowhere, comes a warm song, you ain't
about to forget it
This is the first time I've heard him at the airport
I know he moves along the Piers
He calls himself a Journey Agent
A Eulipion
Says his friends, the poets and the artists and the musicians are Eulipions
Listen to his tune
He calls it the duty free gift for the traveler.

-Theme for the Eulipions, by Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Betty Neals

A Little Bit About Me:

I've worked primarily in the arts--making art and doing nonprofit arts administration. Or the art of raising money for good causes. After five years working with Ethical Metalsmiths, an international group of jewelers, retailers, and consumers advocating responsibly sourced jewelry, I recently moved to a consulting role and returned to being a practicing printmaker.

Love to swim in freshwater, spring-fed lakes and, time to time, descend from the mountains to dive back in and swim through the lovely crowds of pedestrians in my native New York City.

Other Alumni Involvement: Co-Class Agent; Reunion Planning Committee; GRASP Volunteer
