How to Tame Your Mind and Discover Your Wild Heart
We all know what it's like when our minds are either racing around, caught up in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, or when they become fixated on one (often painful) thought. It's an uncomfortable experience, to say the least! In this workshop, participants will be exploring practical meditative techniques, which you can use to help you calm your mind and discover the peace, beauty and, joy of your own wild heart.
Workshop Time and Date: Sunday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. CT
Workshop Lead: Vishwam Heckert ’97
Meet Vishwam
While Vishwam Heckert was at Grinnell, he studied psychology and gender & women’s studies. Heckert went on to earn a Ph.D. in sociology (University of Edinburgh) on intimacy, identity and the transformation of politics. Really, what he wanted to know was: who am I, and how do I be free? He now works as a yoga teacher, teacher trainer, and wellbeing coach supporting people who want a calm mind, open heart, and happier life. Heckert leads regular classes, workshops, and retreats around the United Kingdom and now virtually as well.
