Class of 2020 — Wine in the Time of Covid

Hello, Class of 2020! You’ve graduated and entered the job market during a global pandemic. Life is full of uncertainties. A glass of wine at the end of the day can be just the elixir that needed to put pandemic life into perspective. But funds can be tight right now. Do you really have to spend a lot just to find a decent bottle? The short answer is, “no.”

Join Sommelier David Herren ’79 for a special wine tasting class just for you and your classmates. David will introduce you to some widely available, but still wonderful, wines of a quality and price point that won’t break the bank. The tasting will cover the basics of what makes for a good wine, what the differences are between wines from different regions, and how to drink wine so that all of the flavors come through.

Not a wine drinker? That's okay! Join us anyway and enjoy catching up with your classmates.

Class of 2020 - Wine in the Time of Covid
Tuesday, March 16
7–8:30 p.m. CST
Zoom virtual event

For the tasting, David asks that you pick up a bottle of any one of the wines listed in your registration confirmation email. On the high end, some of these wines might cost as much as $20, while some are as little as $8.

There will be time at the end of the tasting for David to answer all of your wine-related questions! For those who wish to stay and catch up after the event, we will open breakout rooms for you to hang out in for as long as you wish that evening.
