West Regional Networks

There are numerous active regional networks in the West. If you would like to volunteer for your local regional network planning committee or if you don’t see a network in the area close to you, please contact Monique Armbrister, associate director of alumni and donor relations, at 641-269-4417 or armbristerm@grinnell.edu.

Grinnell-on-the-Front Range

The Grinnell-on-the-Front Range Regional Network includes portions of southeastern Wyoming and the metropolitan areas of Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Around 740 alumni live in this regional network and an additional 975 Grinnell College students, parents, and friends of the College live in the area.

The Grinnell-in-on-the-Front Range Regional Network Coordinators are: Jason Reynold ’94, Jennifer Beinart ’06, and Christine Hood ’17.

Grinnell-in-Puget Sound

The Grinnell-in-Puget Sound Regional Network encompasses the northwestern portion of Washington, including the Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia metropolitan areas. Around 785 alumni live in this regional network and an additional 780 Grinnell College students, parents, and friends of the College live in the area.

The Grinnell-in-Puget Sound Regional Network Coordinator is: Stephen MacFarlane ’82.

Connect with your local alumni community through the Grinnell-in-Puget Sound Facebook group, the [seattle] page on [plans], and the [pugetgrin] listserv, used for communicating among local alumni.

Grinnell-in-Portland

The Grinnell-in-Portland Regional Network encompasses the greater Portland-area of Oregon. Around 585 alumni live in this regional network and an additional 615 Grinnell College students, parents, and friends of the College live in the area.

The Grinnell-in-Puget Sound Regional Network Coordinators are: David Jarvis ’04 and Allison Brinkhorst ’11.

Grinnell-in-the-Bay Area

The Grinnell-in-the Bay Area Regional Network encompasses the broader Bay area of California and includes: San Francisco, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Berkeley, Oakland, and a number of other nearby metropolitan areas. Around 1,260 alumni live in this regional network and an additional 1,270 Grinnell College students, parents, and friends of the College live in the area.

The Grinnell-in-the-Bay Area Regional Network does not currently have any regional coordinators. If you are interested in serving in this role, please contact Monique Armbrister, associate director of alumni and donor relations, at 641-269-4417 or armbristerm@grinnell.edu.

Grinnell-in-Los Angeles

The Grinnell-in-Los Angeles Regional Network encompasses the greater metropolitan area of Los Angeles and includes: Los Angeles, Pasadena, Malibu, Irvine, Orange County, and a number of other local metropolitan areas. Around 690 alumni live in this regional network and an additional 900 Grinnell College students, parents, and friends of the College live in the area.

The Grinnell-in-Los Angeles Regional Network Coordinators are: Lorrie Alves ’73, Mary Kay Allen ’72, Baylis Beard ’05, Ivy Chang ’01, and Beth Guynn ’78.

Grinnell-in-Hawaii

The Grinnell-in-Hawaii Regional Network encompasses all of Hawaii. Around 135 alumni live in this regional network and an additional 150 Grinnell College students, parents, and friends of the College live in the area.
