Get Involved
Grinnell’s alumni network thrives on the time, energy, and enthusiasm of its volunteers—people like you who want to stay connected, give back, and build community wherever they live. Whether in an established network region or initiating something new, there are many ways to get involved.
Volunteer!
We’re always looking for new volunteers to help grow and support our regional networks—whether by planning events, leading a committee, or hosting a one-time gathering. Volunteering is a meaningful way to give back, make new connections, and help shape the Grinnell experience for others in your area.
Regional Network Coordinators
Coordinators help guide the work of their local network by organizing planning meetings, facilitating communication with fellow volunteers, and leading engagement efforts. They play a key role in shaping a welcoming and connected community.
Regional Planning Committees
These groups of alumni volunteers work together—and in partnership with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations—to foster connections within their local Grinnell communities. Committee members help plan and promote events ranging from social gatherings and cultural outings to service projects and networking opportunities.
Regional Event Hosts
Want to plan a single event without joining a committee? No problem. Event Hosts take the lead on one or more local events each year. These can be anything from casual get-togethers to structured programming. If you’re interested in hosting, complete this event form or contact Monique Armbrister.

Attend a Regional Event
Throughout the year, Grinnell’s regional networks host a variety of events—welcome socials, service projects, picnics, happy hours, and more.
Visit the Alumni Events Calendar page to see what’s happening near you.
To ensure you don’t miss out, keep your contact information current in the alumni directory, especially your mailing address and email preferences.
Don’t See a Network in Your Area?
Even if you live in a region without an existing network, you can still help foster a Grinnell community where you are. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations may be able to support your efforts to create opportunities for connection.
