Grinnell College Alumni and Student Virtual Trivia Tournament 2025
Can you name the U.S. capitals in alphabetical order? Did you study nineteenth-century French poetry? Or are you unsure if Chappell Roan is a person, place, or thing but you just love answering trivia questions?
If so, gather your Grinnellian friends together to play in our virtual trivia tournament! This year all alumni and current students are invited to participate.
Hosted by the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, the tournament will occur March 4–11, 2025. Each team will compete in a preliminary round and the top three teams from each preliminary night will move on to compete in the Championship Round on March 11 to determine the winning trivia team!
Please note we have moved the championship round to Tuesday, March 11. This is to avoid having the championship round fall on the holiday of Purim.
Each night will be comprised of three unique rounds of themed trivia with 10 questions in each round.
Register online by noon CT Friday, Feb. 28 to secure your spot. You can register as a team of 4-6 people or register as an individual and you will be connected with other Grinnellians to form a team. All preliminary round options will be capped at 25 teams, so register early!

FAQ
How many people can be on a team?
Groups who wish to register as a team must have 4-6 people, no more, no less.
If you don’t have at least 4 team members, we encourage you to register separately and email Adam Kelley-Chown at kelleyad@grinnell.edu to say that you would like to be together. However, you will have other Grinnellians added to your group that night to form a complete team.
Can I play on more than one team?
No, you may only play on one trivia team.
What if I don’t have a team?
We will assign you to a randomly assigned team of alumni and students. This is a great way to make new Grinnellian friends! We will keep registering couples together when assembling teams.
Can alumni and students be on a team together?
Sure!
What is the prize for winning?
Each winner from the championship team will receive a Grinnell-trivia themed prize. All participants will receive the gift of laughter, excitement, and camaraderie while having fun with other Grinnellians!
