Once and Future Grinnell

As horizon lines expand beyond the current pandemic, strategic planning conversations for the College have begun. The virtual formats of the spring have allowed us to include many constituencies, and I am pleased to share that I have worked with students, faculty, and staff to establish a radio show dedicated to strategic planning entitled Once and Future Grinnell to signal how this process invites us to build into Grinnell’s future by understanding its origins and values as well as our own lived experience of the College.

I warmly invite you to think with me Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. CT as we work through the five strategic principles I have established for exploration: community; educational excellence and continuity; diversity, equity, and inclusion; health and well-being; and financial sustainability. This period of exploration will nurture our work in the fall as we start to identify strategic priorities and projects. It is an honor to think with Grinnell constituents and to dream into Grinnell’s future with you. You can listen live online via KDIC MixIr, or listen at your own convenience through the College’s All Things Grinnell podcast site. I look forward to the discussion ahead.
