Why I Wanted to Serve on the Alumni Council:
Grinnell gave me so much when I was a student, and it continues to have direct and ongoing effects on my personal and professional lives. I want to make sure that future generations of Grinnell students continue to have access to incredible opportunities and find more ways that we can connect alumni with staff, faculty, and current students.

A Little Bit About Me:
After living in Vermont, Iowa, New York, California, Australia, and Minnesota, I now get to call the quirky city of Portland my home. In my day job, I serve as the Dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs at Portland State University. As a relatively new resident of the Pacific Northwest, I'm getting to know the region with my partner and our dog (who is always up for a car ride), and I still get giddy when I walk home from work and can see an honest-to-goodness mountain looming in the background.
Outside of work, I am a (not necessarily speedy) runner and a solidly average skier, have a deep and abiding fondness for bowties, and stop to pet most dogs.
