Grinnell College Alumni Virtual Trivia Tournament

Are you an expert on Ancient Egyptian Mythology? Is your knowledge of Olympic athletes famous among your friends? Maybe you have stored up a wealth of information about American presidents? If so, gather your Grinnellian friends together to play in our first Grinnell College Virtual Trivia tournament.

Hosted by the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, the tournament will occur Feb. 22-March 11, 2021. Initial rounds of competition will take place according to time zone (see the schedule below) with the winning teams competing against each other in semifinal rounds. The top scoring teams will compete in the tournament finals on March 11. Each tournament will be comprised of three rounds of themed trivia with 10 questions in each round. Do I have to play in my time zone?

If you are registering as a team, not all members must live in that time zone. They just need to be prepared to play at the correct time.

Can I play on more than one team?

You may only play on one trivia team.

What if I don’t have a team?

We will assign you to a randomly assigned team of alumni that night. This is a great way to make new Grinnellian friends! We will keep registering couples together when assembling teams.

What if I only have 3 people on my team, or I have more than 5 people?

Groups who wish to register as a team must have 4-5 people, no more, no less.

What is the prize for winning?

Each member of the overall winning Trivia Championship team will win a Grinnell College sweatshirt blanket.
