Signature Events

Every year there are a few events that rise to the top. These events are only completed with the help of Alumni Volunteers and the Office of Development and alumni relations working in tandem to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences for alumni and friends of Grinnell College.

Reunion and Alumni College

The weekend following Memorial Day has become a crazy but special time on campus. Each year, selected classes come back to participate in events, discussions, seminars, entertainment, and celebrations of the people, places, and principles that make us uniquely Grinnell. Find out more by checking out Reunion and Alumni College page.

RAGBRAI

During the last part of July, alumni come together to ride their bikes from the Missouri River eastward, across Iowa, to the Mississippi River. It is tradition to dip your back tire in the Missouri before you start out and end your ride by dipping your front tire in the Mississippi. Grinnell College has an official team and events for other riding alumni for the (Des Moines) Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa.

Global Day of Service

On the Saturday closest to Founders' Day (June 10), we celebrate the Grinnell community's commitment to social responsibility. Join Grinnellians in your area for a group service project or complete your own service project as an independent volunteer. Grinnell's Global Day of Service started in 2015 as a way to do more in honor of Founders' Day.

Summer Picnics

Each summer, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations partners with alumni around the country to host 20-25 picnics. These events play an important role in welcoming the entering class of first year students to Grinnell and the most recent graduates to the alumni community. Connect with your local Grinnell community at the next summer picnic in your area.
