Grinfluencers host Arctic Lights at Gates-Rawson Tower as first snow falls on campus

December 18, 2024 — Gates-Rawson Tower is once again aglow for the holiday season.

Established in 2015 as a community-building event by Austin Cote ’15, Grinnell College student Grinfluencers organized the annual event this year to light up Gates-Rawson Tower. More than 80 students attended this year’s festivities on Dec. 2, which included a singing performance by the a capella student group Con Brio, a hot cocoa bar, giveaways, and the unveiling of the lights.

A team of six students work as engagement ambassadors – Grinfluencers – for the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The Grinfluencers provide Grinnellians with insight into the student experience through social media content and other avenues, such as the Arctic Lights event.

Below are a few photos from the festivities and on the right is a video Grinfluencer Mariia Minieieva ’27 put together showcasing what happened during Arctic Lights.
