Grinnell-in-New York Summer Party

The Grinnell College Office of Development and Alumni Relations invites all members of the Grinnell community and their families to the annual Grinnell-in-New York summer party. See old friends, make new ones, and give a special welcome to the just-graduated class of 2019 and the entering class of 2023.

An assortment of hors d'oeuvres and nonalcoholic beverages will be provided for your enjoyment. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at a full bar; cash and credit cards will be accepted.

Located just below the promenade in Riverside Park, Ellington in the Park is a family-friendly venue that faces a large sand play area and is close to both baseball and soccer fields.

Directions

Closest Public Transit

M5, M96, M104, M7, M11 buses and the 1, 2, 3 subway lines. The closest train station is the 103rd Street stop on the No. 1 train.

From Riverside Drive

The closest entrances to the park are at 103rd and 104th Streets and Riverside Drive; follow the ramp or stairs down to the promenade. At 105th Street, across from the dog park, you will see the upper level of the Ellington. Take the stairs on the north and south ends of the upper pavilion to the lower level facing the river. These stairs are often easily navigated with strollers.

Stair-free access

Enter the park by the ramps at 97th or 103rd Streets and follow the paths to the promenade at 101st Street; head slightly west to access the path between the Henry Hudson Parkway and the athletic fields. Continue north past the soccer and baseball fields; the restaurant will be on your right past the second baseball field.

From the Hudson River Greenway

The closest access from the Hudson River Greenway is at 100th Street; follow the directions above from promenade level at 100th Street.
