The Office of Development and Alumni Relations invites you to a virtual lecture with Dr. Seong-Hyon Lee ’99/’00. Dr. Lee will share his insights and experiences, providing unique perspectives on the critical issues shaping China, the Korean Peninsula, and East Asia today. This event promises to be an enlightening evening, delving into topics that are not only of regional significance but also have global implications.

Political science majors, Brian Goodell ’24 and Meredith Neid ’24 will moderate a short virtual Q&A session for attendees following the lecture.

About the Speaker

Dr. Seong-Hyon LeeSeong-Hyon Lee, Ph.D., has extensive experience in China, the Korean Peninsula, and East Asia. He has provided briefings to South Korean presidential candidates. He is a Senior Fellow at the George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations and holds the position of Visiting Scholar at Harvard University Asia Center. Born in South Korea, he had the happiest four years of his life at Grinnell. Afterward, he earned degrees from both Harvard University and Tsinghua University, the alma mater of President Xi Jinping. He was a Pantech Fellow in Korean Studies at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center at Stanford University. He lived in Beijing for 11 years.
