Grinnell-in-Boston: Summer Picnic
Sharla Levine '77, Jon Petitt '01, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, and the Office of Admission invite all members of the Grinnell community and their families in the area to the Grinnell-in-Boston summer picnic. See old friends, make new ones, and give a special welcome to the just-graduated class of 2017 and the entering class of 2021.
4–6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 22
Petitt Residence
5 Woodbine St.
Somerville, MA 02143
RSVP to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations online below or by phone at 866-850-1846. We have learned of a delay in the arrival of print invitations and have extended the registration deadline so those who did not receive the email invitation are able to register. Please note that if you register after Wednesday, July 19, you will not have a printed nametag, but we still hope that you will join us!
If you did not receive the email invitation, please contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 866-850-1846 or alumni@grinnell.edu to verify that we have the correct email address on file.
Please note that the Registered Attendees list to the left does not display the names of all participants and therefore is not fully representative.
Potluck instructions
Please bring a dish to share with others based on the list below. As hosts, Jon and Sharla will grill hamburgers (beef and vegan); please feel free to bring something to grill if you would like. Jon and Sharla will also provide plates, cups, napkins, flatware, ice, and water.

Please bring lawn chairs or blankets, if you are able. There is an adjacent park, if you'd like to bring lawn games as well. If the picnic needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather on Saturday, the picnic will be rescheduled for the same time on Sunday, July 23.
We look forward to seeing you!
Parking and Directions
Free parking is available in the lot at 114 Central St., Somerville (Woodbine Street is a private way with very limited parking). The lot is a very short walk across the small Somerville Junction Park from the Petitt residence (a purple house).
You are also encouraged to take the MBTA Red Line to Davis Square; the station is one mile west on Community Path and ends at Lowell and Woodbine Streets, down the street from the picnic. The 80, 88, and 90 bus routes stop within a quarter-mile. Feel free to bike over as well; the Somerville Community Path is an extension of the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway, easily accessed anywhere from Somerville to Bedford.
Online registrations for this event are now closed. Please call to register at 866-850-1846.
