Alumni Council Committees

Standing Committees

Standing committees facilitate the mission and goals of Grinnell College and its Alumni Council. The specific work of the committees will be determined by the College staff and committee members.

Alumni Engagement and Communications Committee
Develops and implements strategies for communicating with and learning from the alumni community and facilitates opportunities for engagement within the alumni community and between alumni and faculty, staff, students, and friends.

Alumni Student Connections Committee
Extends meaningful alumni connections that support current students and student programs, including on-campus exchanges and career opportunities.

Awards, Membership, and Election Committee
Works to encourage nominations and select recipients of the annual Alumni Awards presented each year at Reunion while managing the elections of president and new members of the Alumni Council.

Diversity and Inclusion Committee
Coordinates outreach to Grinnell’s diverse alumni communities to enrich the networks of diverse alumni and students across the College.

Ad Hoc and Annual Committees

Annual committees are composed of members of the standing committees. Ad hoc committees are appointed at the discretion of the President. These committees serve to complete specific tasks that affect the entire Alumni Council.

Executive Committee
The president, past president, president-elect, and the chairs of the four standing committees of the Council shall constitute the Executive Committee.
