Los Angeles Admitted Student Reception
Grinnell College invites you to meet and celebrate the 69 students admitted to Grinnell College from the greater Los Angeles area at the Rise-N-Grind Coffee and Juice Bar on Saturday, April 15.
This year we are excited to add a fun, interactive storyboarding workshop led by Dodge Greenley '11, who is a storyboard artist at Nickleodeon Studios. Modeled after the popular wine and canvas events, at the “Storyboarding and Smoothies” workshop you will not only learn some basic introductory facts about storyboarding, you will get step-by-step instructions on how to draw and narrate your own storyboard sequence. Storyboarding is the drawing of a scene for a movie or cartoon before it is shot or animated. In some ways, it is similar to a comic strip as it both visualizes and narrates a story in framed images. Don’t worry if you don’t have any drawing skills—everyone is welcome and the point is to have fun trying something new while chatting with each other.
