Alumni Senior Awards

About the Alumni Senior Awards

Many Grinnell alumni view community service, on both a professional and a volunteer level, as a core part of the Grinnell experience. The humanitarian spirit that students develop while on campus is a key part of what makes us Grinnellians.

Recognizing the importance of involvement and service to the Grinnell campus community and what that means to the newest class of graduates, the Alumni Council each year honors two seniors who have distinguished themselves through their donations of time and talent to the College and to their fellow classmates.

Members of the graduating class nominate potential honorees from among their classmates. This award honors those students who best exemplify the Grinnell spirit and to whom the class will continue to look for leadership as they become the newest members of the alumni community.

The final selection is made by a committee of alumni faculty and staff members, a representative of the Alumni Council Awards Committee, and a staff representative of the Student Alumni Council, with assistance and input from fellow classmates, additional faculty and staff, and the Alumni Council Awards Committee.

The Alumni Senior Awards were announced and presented by the Alumni Council at Baccalaureate on Sunday, May 22 prior to Commencement.

The 2022 honorees are Maya Larson ’22 and Linh Tang ’22. Learn more about each of our recipients.
