Grinnell-in-Southern New England: Smith Botanic Garden Bulb Show
Join Anna Halpin-Healy ’13 and your local Grinnell community for a group visit to the incredible Smith Botanic Garden. Their lovely greenhouses will be home to an incredible collection of bulb flowers, including crocuses, hyacinths, narcissi, irises, lilies, and tulips for a few weeks next month during their annual Spring Bulb Show. A welcome respite from the cold, join us in the greenhouses to celebrate the upcoming arrival of spring!
Sunday, March 9
1 p.m.
Smith Botanic Garden
16 College Lane
Northampton, MA 01063
Please register online or by phone at 866-850-1846 by end of day on Monday, March 3.
Our group will rendezvous in the reception area and exhibition space just inside the entrance to the gardens at 16 College Lane. We will enjoy a self-guided visit together, so late arrivals or early departures won't be disruptive to the group, and children are definitely welcome.
The greenhouses can be very crowded during the bulb show. If you are uncomfortable in crowds, the greenhouses with the permanent plant residents are typically not crowded, so we still encourage you to join us!
There is no fee to register for this event with the College, but the Garden has a suggested donation of $5, which can be made with cash upon arrival. There are two accessible entrances, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, and a lift in the front of the building that goes between the lower-level Church Gallery and the reception area. Maps of accessible routes through Lyman Conservatory are available at the front desk.
