From Diseased Pariahs to Getting Your Groove On (Fluid Free)

Exploring the AIDS Pandemic of the 1980s and 1990s with the Queer Zine Archive Project

Using zines and other ephemeral material from the collection of the Queer Zine Archive Project, participants will explore multiple facets of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and the way that it effected queer communities across the globe.

Meet Christopher

Christopher Wilde is the co-founder of The Queer Zine Archive Project (QZAP), a website and physical archive of queer zines, defined as self-published magazines and ephemeral materials produced by queer people around the world from the 1980s to today. Based on their experience as a queer zine makers, graphic designers, and computer tech nerds in the 1990s, Wilde and his partner Milo Miller co-founded QZAP in 2003 as a living history project to preserve and interpret queer print culture as well as encouraging currently emerging zinemakers.
