Why I Wanted to Serve on the Alumni Council:
Grinnell has greatly shaped the person I have become. I wanted to give back to an institution that gave so much to me. I am particularly interested in helping to reconnect alumni to current students and the college. Lastly, I find great fulfillment and joy interacting with Grinnellians and can't wait develop friendships with my fellow council members.
A Quote I Like:
“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”
—Edward Everett Hale
A Little Bit About Me:
I am an Ethics Attorney (Associate Ethics Counselor) with the Federal Government. Prior to my current position, I was a Family Law and Estate Planning attorney at a small law firm in Zionsville, Indiana.
I am the proud mother to one adorable rat terrier (Ruby Jean) and many, many plants. Ruby and I participate in dog sports around the Colorado Front Range, including FastCat, Agility, Flyball, and barn hunt. I am also an avid indoor and outdoor gardener. In my free time I enjoy going to an adult ballet class, hiking, coloring, and needlepoint. I also enjoy listening to podcasts like Sawbones, Stuff You Missed in History Class, Ologies, and various History Hit podcasts.
Other Alumni Involvement: Grinnell on the Front Range Volunteer; Reunion Planning Committee; (I was previously a class agent and GRASP volunteer)
