2017 Global Day of Service
June 21, 2017 — Thank you for making our third annual Global Day of Service a success!
Grinnellians around the world have been celebrating Founders' Day and honoring Trustee James J. Hill's contribution to our Grinnell community on June 10, 1846. Throughout these first two weeks of June, Grinnellians have held true to the core values of Grinnell by working to better their local communities. Alumni and students continue to gather for group service projects in Seattle, Cedar Rapids, Toronto, and many other cities, while others organize independent projects or dedicate their regular service engagements to the Global Day of Service celebration:
- Garfield Park Conservatory — Chicago, Ill.
- Pima Air & Space Museum — Tucson, Az.
- African American Museum of Iowa — Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- Special Olympics 2017 Summer Games — Portland, Maine
- Middle Way Farm — Grinnell, Iowa
- Partnerships for Parks — New York, N.Y.
- Second Harvest Heartland — Twin Cities, Minn.
