David Jarvis '04 first visited Grinnell in June 1999 and immediately fell in love with the place. At Grinnell, David was chair of the Grinnell College Campus Democrats from 2000-2002, an active volunteer for John Kerry's presidential campaign during the 2004 caucuses and a member of the school's mock trial team. He also spent many Saturday nights at the Slum, volunteered with NSO during final two years and was known for his annual March Madness pool, which he still runs to this day. After graduating in 2004 with a degree in political science, David worked for the Oregon Legislature and then entered the PhD Program in Public Administration and Policy at Portland State University. David received his doctorate in June 2014.

David is a member of the 2004 Class Committee and lives in Portland, Oregon. He is currently employed by the State of Oregon's Higher Education Coordinating Commission as a university fiscal analyst, focusing on university finance, higher education policy, accountability and legislative relations. David enjoys spending time with his family, friends and dog, traveling, and rooting for his beloved Blazers, Ducks,Timbers and Thorns.
