Tribute
As Humanities majors, Matthew Welch (Grinnell College ’96, Spanish and Theater) and Michael Spinella (Northwestern University ’96, Classics and Religious Studies) felt strongly about having a connection to where the study of the Humanities takes place at Grinnell.
Matthew and Michael went on to have careers in business and technology, proving that a liberal arts education is excellent preparation for any profession. They feel their significant studies in the Humanities enrich their professional lives and set them apart from their colleagues whose own training was more narrowly focused on business, technology, and technical studies.
