Reunion Student Worker

Do you want to have more interactions with Grinnell College alumni and earn valuable skills working with a team?

A Reunion job will allow you to network with alumni, make new friends, and be a part of this memorable, annual event….all while being paid! We are looking for highly motivated, hard-working, team orientated, organized, dependable students to fill various positions at Reunion.

Student employees who work Reunion are eligible for free housing from the end of the school year through Reunion. They also receive free meals when they are working, competitive wages, Reunion staff t-shirts, and many other perks.

Reunion Assistant

Have you ever worked reunion before?  If not, this is a great place to start.  Reunion Assistants are assigned to various teams such as Registration, Advance, A/V, and Childcare. Please make sure to give us details on your past work so you can be assigned to the team that best makes use of your talents and knowledge.

There are staggered work schedules for Reunion Assistants, depending on skill level, team, and eagerness to work.

Reunion Ambassador

Reunion Ambassadors are assigned to a specific Reunion class to assist that class with their work and their festivities. Ambassadors must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently. Because ambassadors work with many different age groups, the ability to be flexible and communicate effectively is also important.

Driver

If you are a certified driver of the College, or are qualified to be a certified driver*, we encourage you to apply for the Reunion Driver position. As a driver, you will run alumni shuttles back and forth to the Des Moines or the Cedar Rapids Airports, downtown Grinnell, and will staff the fleet of golf carts that transport alumni all over campus. Drivers have more direct interaction with alumni than any other position. Because they require special certification, they are also paid slightly more.

You do not have to be currently certified by the College to apply for these positions, but you must be eligible.*

*To be an eligible driver, you must be 19 years old, have at least two years of driving experience, possess a valid driver’s license, and have no moving violations for the last six months. Drivers are required to register with the College and pass a driving test which will be arranged after hire.

Senior Staff

Think you have what it takes to be a reunion leader? Senior Staff are often returning reunion workers who wish to take on a leadership role after gaining some reunion experience. However, you don’t have to be experienced to apply! If you have the leadership skills to lead a team, are a hard worker, and consider yourself a fast learner, you should consider a Senior Staff position.

Senior Staff members lead each Reunion team. They require a great work ethic, patience, and an ability to motivate a team. Please indicate which Senior Staff position(s) you are applying for on your application.

To apply for any of these positions, please log into Handshake where you will find a listing and specific descriptions for each of these positions.
