Lora Breczinski ’09, Jay Dick ’93, Greg Gaines ’72, David Kathan ’78, Chris Re-Scherer ’14, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations invite all members of the Grinnell community and their families to the Grinnell-in-Washington, D.C. summer picnic.
Summer picnics are fun, casual get togethers for Grinnellians. All members of the Grinnell Community — alumni, current students, incoming new students, family members, and friends — are welcome at summer picnics.

Bring your favorite yard games, camping chairs, and coolers for this outdoor event.
As hosts, the Grinnell-in-Washington, D.C. Planning Committee will provide the main dishes (meat and vegetarian/vegan options), as well as plates, napkins, cups, and utensils. If you like, please bring a dish to share based on the list below. If you aren't able to bring something, come anyway! We will have plenty of food for everyone.
If your last name begins with:
A–H — please bring a dessert
I–Q — please bring a side dish or salad
R–Z — please bring an appetizer/finger food or beverage
Directions
Virginia Highlands Park is two blocks from the Pentagon City Metro stop; walk south on South Hayes Street and turn right at the firehouse. Our group will be located in the center of the park at the covered shelter — keep an eye out for the Grinnell signs. Parking is available on South Hayes Street and in a lot off S. 18th Street.
