Alumni Virtual Events

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations collaborates with alumni, regional network planning committees, students, parents, and friends to host virtual events for the Grinnell community. As with all events hosted by our office, our goal is to gather Grinnellians together for fun, learning, and a shared sense of community.

The format of the events below may vary depending on the content and purpose of the event. Every event will list the technology platform being used (Cisco webex, Zoom, etc.) and we encourage you to download that platform in advance of the event.

Also, in these uncertain times, events may need to be postponed or adapted if a host becomes ill or if circumstances change. We appreciate your flexibility as we work through these things together.

Grinnell-in-New Mexico Summer Picnic

Toni Androski ’16, Nate Crail ’19, Cassie Miller ’16, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations invite all members of the Grinnell community and their families to the Grinnell-New Mexico Summer Picnic.

Summer picnics are fun, casual get-togethers for Grinnellians. All members of the Grinnell Community — alumni, current students, incoming new students, family members, and friends — are welcome at summer picnics.

Event Details

Please bring a dish to share—your favorite picnic food or a dish that reminds you of your time at Grinnell. The event hosts will provide the main dishes as well as beverages, plates, napkins, cups, and utensils. 

Do come even if you can't bring anything—we will have extra food so there will be plenty for everyone. Getting to spend time together is the most important thing!

There are picnic tables at the pavilion but if the weather is nice, everyone may want to spread out, so bring camp chairs, coolers, and yard games if you like.

Parking

Parking is free at the park as long as you say you are with the "Renstrom-Schaefer group" when you enter.
