Alumni Virtual Events

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations collaborates with alumni, regional network planning committees, students, parents, and friends to host virtual events for the Grinnell community. As with all events hosted by our office, our goal is to gather Grinnellians together for fun, learning, and a shared sense of community.

The format of the events below may vary depending on the content and purpose of the event. Every event will list the technology platform being used (Cisco webex, Zoom, etc.) and we encourage you to download that platform in advance of the event.

Also, in these uncertain times, events may need to be postponed or adapted if a host becomes ill or if circumstances change. We appreciate your flexibility as we work through these things together.

Grinnell-in-Western North Carolina Summer Picnic

Alison Hayes ’87 and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations invite you to the Grinnell-in-Western North Carolina summer picnic.

Summer picnics are fun, casual get togethers for Grinnellians. All members of the Grinnell Community — alumni, current students, incoming new students, family members, and friends — are welcome at summer picnics.

Event Details

Please bring a dish to share—your favorite picnic food or a dish that reminds you of your time at Grinnell. The event host will provide beverages, plates, napkins, cups, and utensils. 

Do come even if you can't bring anything—we will have extra food so there will be plenty for everyone. Getting to spend time with you is the most important thing!

After we eat, you may want to explore the French Broad River Greenway, so bring your walking shoes, bike, or roller skates. Or bring a hammock, camp chair, musical instrument, and/or book and chill under the trees.

Parking: Park in the lots between the shelter and the Mellowdrome (velodrome).
