Alumni Virtual Events

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations collaborates with alumni, regional network planning committees, students, parents, and friends to host virtual events for the Grinnell community. As with all events hosted by our office, our goal is to gather Grinnellians together for fun, learning, and a shared sense of community.

The format of the events below may vary depending on the content and purpose of the event. Every event will list the technology platform being used (Cisco webex, Zoom, etc.) and we encourage you to download that platform in advance of the event.

Also, in these uncertain times, events may need to be postponed or adapted if a host becomes ill or if circumstances change. We appreciate your flexibility as we work through these things together.

Grinnell-in-Chicago Summer Picnic: Evanston

Bob Krause ’83, Anne Stein Velma ’84, Amber Watson ’05, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations invite you to the Grinnell-in-Chicago: Evanston summer picnic.

Summer picnics are fun, casual get togethers for Grinnellians. All members of the Grinnell Community — alumni, current students, incoming new students, family members, and friends — are welcome at summer picnics.

Potluck and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.

Potluck Details

Bring your favorite yard games, camping chairs, and coolers for this outdoor event.

The event hosts will provide the main dishes, as well as plates, napkins, cups, and utensils. If you would like, please bring a dish to share based on the list below. Please come even if you can't bring anything—there will be plenty for everyone.

If your last name begins with: 

A–H — please bring a side dish 
I–Q — please bring an appetizer or beverage
R–Z — please bring a dessert

Please note that this park does not allow guests to bring alcoholic beverages.

Parking: There is limited parking available at the park.
