Alumni Virtual Events

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations collaborates with alumni, regional network planning committees, students, parents, and friends to host virtual events for the Grinnell community. As with all events hosted by our office, our goal is to gather Grinnellians together for fun, learning, and a shared sense of community.

The format of the events below may vary depending on the content and purpose of the event. Every event will list the technology platform being used (Cisco webex, Zoom, etc.) and we encourage you to download that platform in advance of the event.

Also, in these uncertain times, events may need to be postponed or adapted if a host becomes ill or if circumstances change. We appreciate your flexibility as we work through these things together.

Grinnell-in-San Diego Summer Picnic

Kendra Hilman Chilcoat ’94, Andrea Jackson ’95, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations invite you to the Grinnell-in-San Diego summer picnic.

Summer picnics are fun, casual get togethers for Grinnellians. All members of the Grinnell Community — alumni, current students, incoming new students, family members, and friends — are welcome at summer picnics.

Event Details

Bring your favorite yard games, camping chairs, and coolers for this outdoor event.

The event hosts will provide the main dishes, as well as plates, napkins, cups, and utensils. If you would like, please bring a dish to share based on the list below. Please come even if you can't bring anything—there will be plenty for everyone.

If your last name begins with:

A–H — please bring a dessert 
I–R — please bring an appetizer or beverage 
S–Z — please bring a side dish or salad 

Directions

From San Diego, 21 miles north on I-5 to Lomas Santa Fe Drive. Go east 1.5 miles to Highland, then north .25 miles to park entrance.

Parking: The park has good parking available, but there is a $3 fee per vehicle.
