Grinnell-in-New York: Grant Wood: American Gothic and Other Fables
Join your fellow Grinnellians in New York for a private group tour of Grant Wood: American Gothic and Other Fables at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Colin Brooks '13, web developer at the Whitney, and a Whitney Teaching Fellow will welcome our group and lead us through the exhibition of Wood's work, featuring various works on loan from the University of Iowa and a video of the Iowa State library murals in Ames. Join your local Grinnell community for an exploration and discussion of this iconic American artist and Iowa native's work, grounded in Midwestern imagery and life — familiar themes to those of us who have spent at least four years in Iowa! After the tour, we will gather in the Studio Cafe on the eighth floor of the museum.

Registration: The tour has a limited capacity so space is limited and registration is required. Admission is reduced with our group: adult tickets are $20, senior tickets (age 65+) are $16, and we are offering $16 tickets for recent graduates (classes 2013-2017). The Grinnell-in-New York Regional Planning Committee and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations will give one drink ticket for each attendee to use at the Studio Cafe after the tour.
