Alumni Virtual Events

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations collaborates with alumni, regional network planning committees, students, parents, and friends to host virtual events for the Grinnell community. As with all events hosted by our office, our goal is to gather Grinnellians together for fun, learning, and a shared sense of community.

The format of the events below may vary depending on the content and purpose of the event. Every event will list the technology platform being used (Cisco webex, Zoom, etc.) and we encourage you to download that platform in advance of the event.

Also, in these uncertain times, events may need to be postponed or adapted if a host becomes ill or if circumstances change. We appreciate your flexibility as we work through these things together.

Lorrie Alves '73, Mary Kay Allen '72, Shenda Baker '85, Baylis Beard '05, Ivy Chang '01, Beth Guynn '78, Joy Sales '13, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations invite Grinnell alumni and friends to reconnect in-person at our first social event since the pandemic began. See old friends, make new ones, and gather back together to see Herbie Hancock '60 perform at the Hollywood Bowl!

Event Details: Bring your own picnic dinner and join us before the concert at the #14 picnic site. We will provide beverages for all attendees. After dinner, we will head together to enjoy the concert. All tickets are in Section S. We will email you the link to your ticket before the event.

Registration: You can register online with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations or by phone at 866-850-1846 by Monday, Sept. 20. Tickets will cost $5 for young alumni (within ten years of graduation) and $10 for all other guests (a $19 value). All tickets are located together in Section S of the Hollywood Bowl.

Directions and Parking: You can review the Hollywood Bowl's suggested directions before the event.We encourage you to park in Lot B as it is next to the #14 picnic location where we will be eating dinner. Check out the Hollywood Bowl's accessibility page for more information.

Covid Precautions: The safety of all Grinnellians and guests remains our top priority. Please review our Covid-19 safety precautions and policies for all alumni events before attending the gathering. At this particular event, masks will be required during the concert portion of the evening due to the close seating. Due to potential pandemic-related changes, we retain the right to cancel the event for any reason up to five days before the event.
