Summer Picnics FAQ

Who can attend a summer picnic?

Summer picnics are open to any Grinnell College alum, current student, incoming student, parent, or friend of the College.

What do I need to bring?

Yourself! Some summer picnics are potlucks, some have a catered menu provided, some are a blend of the two. The registration page for each city will provide more information. Even if you can’t bring anything, you are always welcome!

What does the event cost?

All summer picnics are free to all attendees.

What COVID-19 safety precautions will there be?

We want all attendees at our events to be as safe as possible. Many of the events are held outdoors which lessens the risk of transmission. All guests are welcome, but not required to, wear masks. Some venues require both masks indoors and proof of vaccination. For the exact Covid-safety requirements at your local summer picnic, please check that event’s registration page.

We will also regularly monitor the level of COVID-spread at every city and reserve the right to cancel a summer picnic if we have increased concerns.
