Grinnell-in-Southern New England: Alumni Gatherings

Saturday, December 14, 2019 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Grinnell-in-Southern New England: Alumni Gatherings

In collaboration with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, Jake Joseph ’11 and Anna Halpin-Healy ’13 are helping to launch the new Grinnell-in-Southern New England Regional Network on Saturday, Dec. 14. Grounded in our common connection to the Grinnell community, the regional network will focus on strengthening the sense of community among alumni in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Jake and Anna will be serving as co-coordinators for the regional network and are planning to host events throughout the next year. Anna will be planning events in the Northampton area and Jake will do the same in Connecticut and Rhode Island. They are open to ideas and if you would like to plan an event near you, please be in touch!

Branford, Connecticut

Jake Joseph ’11 and your fellow Southern Connecticut and Rhode Island alumni invite you to join them in the waterside tap room of Stony Creek Brewery in Branford, Connecticut.

Stony Creek is an award winning Connecticut Shoreline brewery with a tradition of hosting fun events in their beautiful space. In addition to beer, they have other beverage options and excellent visiting food trucks—usually including Connecticut Lobster! Come for the Grinnell community and stay for the food and drinks!

4–6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14
Stony Creek Brewery
5 Indian Neck Ave.

Northampton, Massachusetts

Join Anna Halpin-Healy ’13, Ali Smith ’11, and your fellow alumni for a casual gathering of Grinnellians. We will be meeting at Artifact Cider’s new taproom in downtown Florence to enjoy some cider and afternoon snacks.

Artifact Cider is a small cider company that got its start in Springfield with support from Valley Venture Mentors, and just opened the taproom three months ago.

Artifact Cider is handicap accessible, child-friendly, and offers gluten free beverage and food options. As their name implies, they make hard cider, but they do have non-alcoholic fresh cider as well.

4–6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14
Artifact Cider
34 North Maple St.
Florence, MA 01062

Directions & Parking: Free parking is available in the parking lot. Please note that the taproom is not directly on North Maple Street; if you are heading north on North Maple Street, away from Rt. 9, there will be a long parking lot on your left before you cross the Northampton Bikeway. Turn left into the lot and drive down a couple hundred feet. Artifact Cider is tucked back a bit and will be on your left.

Register below by Dec. 10 to help Anna and Ali reserve enough tables and gauge the food orders.

Please contact Anna with any questions or concerns at ahalpinhealy@gmail.com or 646-873-0713.
