Join Tony Klodd '11 and Aaron Barker '11 of the Grinnell-in-Des Moines Regional Planning Committee and your local Grinnell community for a day at the world-famous Iowa State Fair! The day will be filled with visits to classic fair attractions, stops at the most delicious food and drink vendors, and even some detours to see contest entries and events with Grinnell connections. There will be activities for every possible age and every possible interest.

Tickets: Buy your tickets in advance! You can buy them online or at most Fareway, Hy-Vee, Price Chopper, or Cash Saver stores across the state. Tickets are $8 per adult and $4 per child if you purchase them before the fair starts. If you wait until the day of, then tickets are $12 and $6 respectively.
Getting to the Fair: Parking is $10 on the grounds, and you are encouraged to leave plenty of time to park as Saturdays are always very busy. If you have trouble finding our group, or you arrive late, call Tony at 515-229-2500 to find out where we are.
Given the level of bustle around the fair, everyone is strongly encouraged to take the Iowa State Fair shuttle from downtown Des Moines. You can park for free at the State Capitol on East 12th Street and catch a shuttle to the grounds for $2 round-trip. Showing your early-purchased ticket also gets half off of the shuttle fare!
